| I have a wonderful family. I really just think they are great. Last Sunday was my birthday and it had the ability to be one of the worst ever since it is the first one without my mom. But my incredible hubby made it just wonderful. First he got me a super cool shirt from chucknorrisfacts.com it says "superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas" that is my favorite "fact". Then he got me a bible cover that is brown and blue...very cute! Then the most amazing thing happened. Today I said "quiet time" and the kids got up and went to their rooms nicely with no complaining. Then after 40 mins the "is it over yet"s started but hey at least it was progress :) Ok well quiet time is over and so this blog post needs to be too. I hope the 2 people who read this blog are doing well :) | | |
| Ok, ok, I know I said I wasn't going to write anymore, but I think its more like I am not going to try to write regularly. Cause I thinking of blogging topics and I do find it fun to write. Just don't expect it too regularly :) I was reading money magazine and it had advice people got about money that really impacted their lives. So I started thinking about advice and stuff about parenting. Obviously the first thing is trying to do what the Bible says, its the best advise book for pretty much everything and parenting is no different. Also I have learned tons from watching people parent and picking up things I like about what they do and try to mimic that (Or in some cases what I don't like and avoiding those things :). But a few things really do stick out as things small bits of advice that really sunk in. "Kids need attention. If you don't proactive give it to them in positive ways, they are going to take it in negative ways." "When you have a baby, welcome them into your family. Don't make them the center of your family or you will end up with a very self centered kid." Ok when I thought of posting this earlier I had like 5, now I can only think of 2 :( I would absolutely love to hear the advice and tid bits of wisdom that you got, that really made an impact on you! Either leave it in a comment or email me at alanda@google.com . Seriously I would love to hear anything! Even just a tiny little thing that made a difference :) | | |
| I am not a blogger. I think about blogging often, but haven't been getting around to do it. So I am pretty sure I am going to stop trying. Also I have been keeping pictures pretty up to date lately. www.dopefly.com So there ya go, if you really want to know what's going on with me feel free to email or pick up the phone :) | | |
| I have been so busy lately. Here was my Monday: Wake up to feed baby at 5 go back to sleep till 8 wake up get everyone fed and ready for Swim class. 10am swim class, come home, go get water, come back home, make lunch for my dad and Grandma. 2pm tumbling class, come home, go to Chuck E Cheese, go straight to mom's club, come home early because baby is hungry. wow. That may not be busy for some, but considering all I do some days is get dressed and make sure the kids are fed, that is one heck of a day. I am really not complaining, I mean I enjoy being busy especially right now. I think it has helped me not sit around and wallow in self pity :) Come to think of it, I think I really enjoy it. I get more done, that's a good thing. Oops I just realized what time it was. I got distracted from this post, I applied for a job. I hope I get it. It's a work from home thing for a ministry here in town. I have been praying for a good work at home job, we'll see. | | |
| That title is a little tribute to Betsy always being out of water. I thought she would like to know that someone else had to live without water for a bit. Granted it is not for 5 days and my kids aren't sick, but this is the USA :) Nathan came home today and asked if they flooded today (they flood our yard every other week to water the plants and grass). I was like no, why? "Well our whole front yard is flooded." What?! Well it turns out our water main had bust, oh joy. So they are in the process of fixing it. I am not looking forward to my whole yard being ripped up. The hole looks like it will have to be pretty deep. It was pretty cool though, I called the City of Gilbert and they had someone here within 15 mins, had all the other mains marked in 2 hours and have started digging within 3. I am impressed. In other news...my computer...Well I got my pretty new shinny Dell last Thursday. I opened it up, it is purple and very cute. But didn't work right from the start, freezes all the time, touch pad is messed up, won't run games. All in all not a keeper. After MANY phone calls and at least an hour on hold to Dell I am sending it back. To Dell's credit they are being nice about the return. I have heard horror stories, so I won't celebrate till I get the refund. However they aren't giving me any trouble about it and UPS will be here to pick it up on their dime. Ok thats the news from the last few hours :) | | |
